See inside my Wigtown Book Festival Sketchbook

In September of 2016, I went to the Wigtown Book Festival in Scotland and painted this sketchbook while watching author sessions and other entertainments. Just drawing the people and what they were talking about.

I was going to make a printed book like I did last year, but I was so busy making a mural for the school that I ran out of time ad so I cancelled the kickstarter project to make it.

You can find out more at the Cancelled Kickstarter page :

This tells you all about the previous year’s successful sketchbook project

Im in Wigtown!

Today I’ve been travelling up to Wigtown in Scotland. Tomorrow sees the start of the Wigtown Book Festival and I am the Official Sketchbook Artist! I’ll be here for ten days, drawing like mad and posting stuff every day.

I’m also making a limited edition book – an exclusive sketchbook and loads more too on my kickstarter page at http://www.wigtownsktechbook.com. If you would like to support me I would be thrilled.

I’m sharing the house with Simon and Laura. Simon’s book Chop Chop was shortlisted for the Costa Novel Award.

It’s outrageously funny and completely original, Chop Chop by Simon Wroe is the story of a hapless young chef in the crazed world of the professional kitchen, featuring lust, revenge, neurosis and haute cuisine. you can get it here http://bit.ly/ChopChopSimonWroe

More tomorrow!

Everyone asks about the tools I use when I’m out using my sketchbook. Here’s a video to show you what and how I use them.

Come Drawing at Wigtown Book Festival

wigtown-logoOn Saturday 27th September I’ll be giving a talk at the Wigtown Book Festival. Do come along. I’ll be talking about how you can start drawing today and how you can easily build your skills as well as giving a few hints and tips along the way.

The children’s author passionately believes that drawing for pleasure shouldn’t be the preserve of childhood. In this mini-masterclass, he encourages adults to embrace their inner illustrator.
